"You're beautiful!!" Nate said to Amanda after he saw his bride for the first time during their first look on their wedding day. Back track to a year ago, when Nate took Amanda on a picnic at sunset and started quoting a love letter she had written him the previous Christmas. "Let's make this come true," he said to her as he got down on one knee surprising her with a ring and a question - "Will you marry me?" And now, their big day has arrived. Amanda's parents gifted here wi
These two are saying "I do!" in just a few short weeks and I cannot wait to celebrate with them. I met Amanda in college, and I had the great privilege to lead a bible study she was in, and this will be the third wedding I get to photograph of those ladies. What a joy to watch them become, and find partners who lead them, love them, and support them. When I finally go to meet Nate in person for their engagement session, I couldn't get over how great they are for each other. T
Tom and Jillian are getting married! I had the best of time with them walking along the river in Milwaukee's third ward during their engagement session. Since winter just would not leave the midwest this year, it was still pretty chilly than we all expected with some patches of snow left unmelted. But it was still a beautiful day, and I'm so glad to share their session on the blog! I can't wait for their wedding day and to continue to celebrate their special love. #kyraraneph
I walked into the church and found the room Lystra was getting ready in. Soft music was playing in the background, and Lystra was quietly singing along. She welcomed me with a big and bright smile, and I couldn't help but feel so excited for their De Pere wedding day to unfold! When I first met Matthew and Lystra months prior, we talked about their wedding day over coffee. They told me about how they met, stories of their relationship, and how Matt likes to collect hats!! I remember my grandpa holding out this photograph of his wedding day to me. A faded, colored photo, of him and his bride standing side by side in front of their little church in the middle of winter. The note on the bottom of the photo read in blue ink 'Our Wedding Day 12-6-58.' Just that one simple photo sparked so many questions about their day, and I loved hearing my grandpa tell it. I love hearing his stories, of him and my grandma and I could listen to him talk all day.
It seems like just yesterday I met with David and Rhondalay to take their engagement pictures, and now here they are celebrating their one year wedding anniversary. David and I used to work together while in college and were both a part of the same campus ministry. Shortly after I met Rhondalay. And let me tell you this girl is a fire of inspiration. Rhondalay battles Crohns and it has been quite a journey in her life. But her faith never sways!! I have seen her choose joy, f
