My dear friend lives in Southern California where she is currently in graduate school. It's so bittersweet having her so far away, but it gives me the perfect reasons to travel! Last week I returned from my second trip out to California, and every time I visit the golden state I love it more and more.
My trip out was filled with planes, trains, and automobiles - missed trains and delayed planes - but eventually, I got to where I needed to be! I think the whole campus housing knew when I arrived cause we pretty much couldn't stop screaming!! It's always exciting to finally be together again. You wouldn't think time or distance ever separated us. For most of the trip, we hung out around her campus, binged on Crown (oh my word we were obsessed), simply enjoyed each other's company since it had been over a year that we saw each other, attempted to sing along with Hamilton, and shared delicious meals. Shannon is an AMAZING cook so I truly look forward to her home-cooked meals!! Her backyard is an arboretum so we even got to enjoy some California light for a mini photoshoot!
On my last day there we ventured to LA where we got to be tourists, and I was able to cross off a bucket list item that I have had since I was 10 - HOLLYWOOD! Shannon worked for tour groups over the summer so she knew all the fun history and facts, and the best places to go. I loved simply walking around and seeing all the fun sights and celebrity stars. And we can't forget that Hollywood sign - the one that was way, way out there!
We also got to visit a few museums which I absolutely loved. The LA Museum of the Holocaust and the LA Contemporary Museum of Arts. Both were amazing and impactful, and before I knew it the day was coming to a close, and I had a late flight out to catch.
Oh, California you sure are something else and I can't wait to see you again!
Isn't she beautiful!!
The rest of the images are fun memories from my iPhone!

It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
