Within minutes of being around these two, you're bound to smile and laugh. They are kind and funny, and have the best stories to share from their twelve years of being together. Their relationship has covered time and distance, they've put in the work to be where they are today celebrating their wedding day with all their friends and family.
Hailey was the winner of a portrait session I donated to a fundraising event hosted by one of my favorite local non-profits, Valley Cats and Rescue. They are a no kill kitten rescue and we have had great experiences adopting our kittens, and my little brother's, through them. She had just gotten engaged, so she reached out to me shortly after the event to schedule their engagement session. I could not wait to meet them and their pup (I love it when couples and families bring their pets to sessions!), and we had the best of time at High Cliff State Park for their fall engagement session. I absolutely loved working with them and was so honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding too a year later.
Here's a little bit more about Jordan and Hailey
HOW DID YOU MEET?
Jordan and I met at a mutual friend's house party during the summer of my senior year of high school. At the end of the night, I told Jordan that I "forgot" where I parked my car on a street packed with parked vehicles, and he offered to help me search. When we walked outside, the road was almost completely cleared out, and my car was sitting in plain sight. However, Jordan walked me to my car, and we began to talk. I was surprised by how much we had in common, and I knew there was something special between us.
FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT EACH OTHER?
Hailey: What I love most about Jordan is his personality. He always knows how to make me smile, laugh, and relax. He is so laid back and easy-going, and he reminds me what's truly important in life. He loves his family, and that is really important to me. He's the best partner I could have in life!
Jordan: Everything (he's such a suck up!)
HOBBIES YOU ENJOY TOGETHER?
Concerts, walking our dog, camping, hiking, traveling
HOW DID HE ASK?
Every year, Jordan and I go searching the woods for morel mushrooms. They are fun to look for and taste delicious! While we were walking through the woods, Jordan called me over to a tree with many mushrooms growing around it. When I came over to see for myself, I found a beautiful diamond ring sitting perfectly on top of one of the mushrooms. I could not believe it! Jordan got down on one knee and said some very beautiful things that I don't remember because I was crying so hard. He's the sweetest. Everything was just perfect! We did go ring shopping together to look for ideas, but Jordan refused to tell me which ring he actually picked!
Congratulations Jordan and Hailey! It's finally here :)
