The fog was heavy as we drove up the mountain. So heavy there were stretches where we couldn't see a thing. No lines on the road or signs off the shoulder. Just a thick white fog.
I too had a heavy fog clouding me as I entered into the weekend. I didn't even realize how long the fog had been following me until it was no longer there. So many doubts and fears where stripped away this weekend that I didn't even expect to encounter.
And after everything was finished. And as we drove back down the mountain, no fog in sight. I too felt lifted and clear headed looking forward at the road ahead.
Earlier this year I had the privilege of traveling to Lake Arrowhead to capture a weekend retreat hosted by Flourish. I met the leader of the group a few years ago at a conference in OBX and we just hit it off. So when she asked me to come out to CA to photograph their retreat I jumped on the opportunity to see her again and take part in such an amazing weekend.
We stayed at the most adorable home overlooking Lake Arrowhead. The fireplaces provided for all the cozy, and made for the perfect space to gather together for fellowship, learning, worship, and laughter. So much laughter!
The ladies were gifted the cutest swag to enjoy: a hoodie, pair of fuzzy socks, mug, key-chain, and gorgeous pair of tassel earrings. Everyone felt so loved and cared for while we spent the weekend together. And on our last morning, it snowed! The California ladies were SO excited to experience the fresh fallen snow and I loved seeing their joy!
This was an amazing weekend for me. I'm so glad I got to meet these women. Partake in their ministry together. I wasn't expecting to receive from this weekend all that I did. And I'll cherish it and all I learned for a very, very long time.
The coziest swag!
